Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord build the house, its builder labors in vain.”

We at Powers Oil and Propane believe that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. John 14:6 We believe He has given us His Word that is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16. We believe that fortunately God is “patient with us (you), not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9 and that the will of Jesus is that “everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life.” John 6:40 We believe wholehartedly we are nothing apart fom Christ.

We believe we are sinners merely saved by grace and it is only by “grace we (you) have been saved, through faith-and this is not from ourselves (yourselves), it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8. Our prayer is that in our weakness He is made strong, God can be glorified and those whose lives are touched by Powers Oil and Propane are pointed to “how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19

CARING THAT EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

I Kings 12:7 “They replied, “If today you will be a servant to these people and serve them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your servants.”

Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.”

“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.”

 

HARD WORK

Proverbs 10:3-4 “The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked, Lazy hands make a poor man, but dilligent hands bring wealth.”

Proverbs 6:10 “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.”

II Thes. 3:10-13 “For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: ‘If a man will not work, he shall not eat.’ We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.”

INTEGRITY IN ALL RELATIONSHIPS

Psalms 15:2-6 “He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does no accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.”

RECOGNIZED AS A LEADER

Titus 1:7-9 “Since an overseer is entrusted with God’s work, he must be blameless-not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursing dishonest gain. Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and diciplined. He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.”

Titus 2:7-8 “In everything set them by example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.”

SERVICE

Titus 1:8 “Rather he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.”

Ephesians 6:5-9 “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is heaven, and here is no favoritism with him.”

Galatians 5:14 “The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself.”

TRUTHFULLNESS

Proverbs 8:7-8 “My mouth speaks what is true, for my lips detest wickedness. All the words of my mouth are just; none of them is crooked or perverse.”

Proverbs 16:13 “Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth.”
